So I've had my eyes on a Remington r1 stainless GI model. Looks beautiful in my opinion. All my 1911 are all "enhanced or extensively worked on". Seeing as I spend 400-450 on my current 1911's and add a few hundred $ into "upgrading", I thought I'd buy somthing a step up from that for once. I'm set on a stainless "GI" style. Series 70 or 80 Dosent matter to me. I'd love to buy another SAM in stainless but I haven't seen any GI styles. Only other one I can thing of is a Springfield. My budget for this will be under 1000$ Preferably. If there are any other options I'm forgetting please let me know. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind working on a 80 pistol for trigger work, expand my knowledge a bit. Anyone have experience with the Remington or springer? Thoughts on them? Honestly I'd love to practice as much as I possibly can on trigger jobs especially, I'm getting better and better. Worked on 5 1911's so far and I'm learning more and more. Long term goal is to be knowledgeable as possible and take in work for trigger jobs. I can't wait untill that day.
Sorry for the rant at the end, this is realy becoming a serious passion for me. But the original question is your thoughts on either a Remington or springer GI style. Thanks in advance!!
