Thoughts on AR scope on Varmint HB rifle ?

I had a bushnell ar 4.5-18×40, 223rem drop zone on my 22-250 rem HB it shot incredible groups, I now have a nightforce 8-32×56 on it and it is way better but my groups 300 meters and under are pretty much the same, and the bushnell is way cheaper.

When I first started this thread that AR Bushnell was the exact scope I was looking at and had found it on special but after looking at some reviews and concerns on the quality of glass, I decided to go with something a little more traditional with better glass. I very much appreciate all the feedback ;)

Well if your using the same lot number of components and the same brass , there should be no difference in the loads. Anytime a new lot of any of the components enters the loading sequence the process begins again. Especially with powder and primers. Thats why buying large lots of components has the advantage of loading lots of rounds that are all the same!!

Probably depends on your reloading setup too - if you only have one single stage press and have to swap dies to seat, you could be adding variability by not setting the dies exactly how they were last batch.

Well, that's my problem as the brass is a batch of 500 pcs. OEM brass as brass is hard to come by. I do have 200 pcs of Winchester brass but not from the same lot as well.
The bullets will be from the same lot and primer is somewhat limited to the same lot from the sleeves I have at this moment. Anyway, will see how things turn out and shots are not further then the 400/ 500 yards.

Now as for the reticle on the scopes, I was able to look thru a few scopes from our local store and I very much like the reticle from Burris. Should work well for my use.;)

I'm lucky in that I have the Redding T-7 turret press and find it works very well to make a batch of reloads. Very much like the setup...
 
I went down the same rd,ended up with a Stac /fine Crosshairs still undecided on the rifle.

I’d rather learn how to you the dials,seems more interesting.

Dont quite follow how a set of dies used in the same press with the same shell holder would change by removing them and reinstalling. My dies have lock rings, once set, exactly the same every time I use them?

Sort your brass by manufacturer and weight. That should help you. - dan
