Thoughts on CZ rifles?

Seems to me Western Gun Parts had some stock and their pricing is not bad. Might check with Reliable Gun in Vancouver as they are a large stocking CZ dealer. Big enough to stock some lefties.
 
I just bought a 453 American in 17 HMR from Wholesale on Thursday...did not come with rings...Burris makes a nice steel set for the rimfires, about $35...my 527 in 221 Fireball came with rings. Have had it a couple years now.....great little gopher gun...40gr VMax's with LilGun powder...15.5 grs....that little detachable mag is great, you can pop it out and top up without taking your eyes off the "patch"......"backwards safety"?...who the he11 uses a safety on a gopher gun?........an empty chamber is the best safety..chamber up when you're ready to fire....besides, your barrel will cool quicker when it's open at both ends....not that barrel heating is a problem with the Fireball......I don't think I've ever engaged the safety.....maybe I should see if it actually works.

When I get around to trying out a 204, pretty good chance it'll be a CZ.....

I don't have a centerfire CZ, but I have a CZ452 Lux in 22WMR and I love it. It shoots very well and looks good too. Mine has really nice, dark walnut. All the metal work is top-notch and feels good and solid. It didn't come with rings, I got the Leupold 11mm rings from Wholesale in Winnipeg. They weren't cheap. The rings are good quality and work well but they are shaped to accomidate a round top reciever and the CZ is flat so there is an unsightly gap. It's not a big deal but it just doesn't look right to me.
 
I Have One

Bought my CZ527 Varmint Laminated in 05' and right from the 1st shot I loved the rifle. It's very accurate, excellent workmanship and the single set trigger is a nice touch for target shooting. This rifle is 1:12 so the only drawback is it likes 45 grain ammo and not much more. The Kevlar model is a 1:9 which will allow you to shoot the heavier grains - 55, 62,69 when you can find them.

I think whichever model you get in a CZ you'll like. They make a quality product.

Mine sure likes the 52 gr. Sierra match, 70 gr. Berger but doesn’t matter what I do at this time doesn’t like the 75 gr Hornady A-Max and those were the one’s I wanted to use...:mad:
 
Just came back from the range with my 7.62x39mm Carbine. Very impressed! Using Norinco non-corrosive steel cased ammo I shot 2.5" groups (5 shot groups) all afternoon at 100 yards using a 4x32 fixed power scope. This week I will start hand loading for it. Got 200 Lapua cases, Federal LR primers, Reloader 7 powder and 125 grain .311 Sierra SP bullets. My starting load will be 25 grains, will work my way up to 26 grains and see how she shoots. I love this little carbine!
 
Mount Sweetness: Not all 527's have protruding mags. The M1 series changed that - don't know about backwards safeties - As safeties are different on all the rifles I have owned but I will admit that 527's do require higher rings then other actions... My M1:
