Been out of AR's for a while and thinking of getting back in with a DD. What are your opinions of these rifles ? Which of the .223/5.56 versions do you like the most ?

I have a DDM4V5 and think it's a quality gun. Feels great and the fit finish is killer. Just working on getting my red dot dialed in. Did a lot of research before I made the purchase and don't regret it for a second. Probably buy an MK18 if all goes well this coming year. Great choice if you decide on a DD.

I have two, M4V5 and Mk18, and I love them both. Just depends what length you want. Availability might be more of a deciding factor if you don't want to wait. I found my M4V5 by chance while on vacation, but I was on a waiting list for the Mk18 for months. Haven't looked recently so I am not sure what is currently available.

I think they're the best quality for the money of what is currently available for ARs.

Mine is a V5 because it was available when I bought it. My optimal choice would be the V7 Lightweight.

I just bought my first AR and its a DD M4V7. Its very high quality, although I'm comparing it to my XCR. I went last weekend to the range and put around 300 rounds and no hiccups at all. I would highly recommend DD. I love mine!

+ 1 for Daniel Defence!

I just bought a DDM4V5 after decided to buy my first AR. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive and after having held several from Colt, Bushmaster and others, I settled on the Daniel Defence. Basically at the price point that I bought mine at (1650$ I think) it was 90$ more than the Colt 6920 but had far more features such as; a very nice, slim quad rail, built in QD swivel cups at the end of the lol as well as on the rail, and a HAMMER FORGED BARREL!!

I too will say that the fit and finish was very good. The charging handle feels a bit gritty but I'm sure that will break in with time.

The only negative I found was that the trigger had a fair amount of creep, but I understand that this is normal for ARs and I've been spoiled with a Swiss Arms trigger.

Carefully consider what barrel length you want. I'm wondering if one day I will regret no having gone with the MK18.

Hello I'm new here first comment actually. Part of the reason I signed up yesterday was to chat about DD RIFLES. I have been on a waiting list to get a DDM4 LE SSP since about July. 11.5" barrel. Got a email that said early in the new year so I'm getting excited. I did a fair bit of research but it's good to here more positive reviews.

Mine went through 4 days of Tactical Response training fresh out of the box without a hiccup. That had to have been at least 3000 rounds. Love it.

I am about to purchase either the mk18 or ddm4v5. Can a fellow shooter help me decide which one? It's looking like an aimpoint pro for an optic it's kinda overwhelming which model to get as cash dictates only one. Next will be to decide which mags and accessories....it's a good place to be in on Xmas day!

Armycat. At this stage, ranges will be under 200 meters and no USA trips. For general handling, curious about length, the mk 18 handled was short but nice and compact. Compared to a longer length mid sized ddm5, I am trying to weigh handling between the two. That's the kicker, since ballistics are not a determining factor. Thoughts?
