Thoughts on DP12 shotgun

Take down is a bit of a pain, too many screws to remove etc. As stated lots of fun, but I found it bulky and uncomfortable. Mine ran great for me but others struggled with it a bit. I liked it but preferred my old KSG. On a side note much cheaper on IRunGuns than elsewhere.

I figured I would chime in as an actual owner, the dp12 is Great! It shoulders quite well and you don't notice the weight when firing it. A small amount of practice is all that's required to learn too cycle it reliably.

The construction of it is considerable - it is definitely over engineered on multiple levels. I have used mbus sights and don't see a need for a red dot. The barrels are parallel so they do put slugs slightly apart.

I haven't had one stoppage or rtf or fde, and I have fired it in any position possible.

Some may think it's ugly but considering the firepower, it's full on awesome!

Also, using aguila mini shells, you can load 24 slugs into it.

I’m interested in one purely as an means of discouraging grizzlies. I’m now in their happy place and don’t want to be part of the the food chain ...... the ability to put a lot of noise and pain in their general direction is all that I’m interested in.

I own a DP12, KSG, UTS15, and as experience with other shotties go, I also have an 870, Winchester defender, canuck commander, hatson optima semi, and couple of ww1-2 shotties.

My DP12 and KSG run perfect. UTS runs decent but not flawless. the DP12 fully loaded is heavy to hold, but once up on your shoulder it feels like a ksg and is fine. Going to feed it some minishells in a couple weeks, they run fine in my ksg so I hope its the same for DP12...
