Thoughts on Finn Classic?

So I've had my eye out for while for a rifle shotgun combination. I tend to do a lot of exploring while I hunt and I just can't bring myself to leave my rifle behind during whitetail season. But I also really enjoy partridge hunting and I hate missing out on it simply because I need to be prepared for that random 12 point that may or may not cross my path. But a combo would solve my problem once and for all.

It seems that if I want to get a new rifle/shotgun combo without breaking the bank on a Krieghoff (which is most definitely out of the question for about the next 15 years at least), my only option is a Finn Classic 512, the descendant of the Valmet 412 and Tikka 512. Does anyone own a Finn Classic, or has anyone even shot one before? Information seems to be quite limited on them. I've only found one official review and only a couple forum threads about it.

Also if anyone knows of any other manufacturers that are making new rifle/shotgun combinations, I'd love to hear about them.

Can't tell you anything about that gun, although it seems to be well-regarded from what I have read. Baikal makes a combo gun that I have played with a bit. It's a little on the tractor-grade side...typical Russian gun...but their firearms seem to shoot and hold up well. There is also an interesting Brno combo gun. I was looking at one in WSS in Regina a couple of months ago. Very nice, and price was around $1900 IIRC.

Check Tradeex for other combo guns - various new (at less cost than a Kreighoff) and used. The Finn is a fine gun - you dont see a lot of them tho.

Thanks for the Baikal suggestion. Definitely a better price point, looks like I could easily get one for less than $800. But I'm leaning towards something a little flashier. The Brno combo looks like it might be more up my alley than the Baikal combo, and I'll definitely be investigating that one further. Thanks for the tip.
