Hi Folks,

I am thinking about getting a Forester Coax press. All accounts sound like it is fantastic.

The only thing that concerns me is there are several reports that if you are loading longer cartridges there is not much room for seating bullets.

The longest I currently load for is a 300 weatherby. Anyone using this press loading for a long cartridge have any problems?

I use mine for 7MM STW with no issues....Would not let it go and would not buy any other press having had most in the past...

The Co-ax is the bee's knees, best press hands down, no arguing. Early ones, esp. when they were Bonanza, had less clearance then the newer models, you're good to go.

The clearance "problem" was caused by the arch at the bottom of the handle. The problem was mainly with micrometer-type seating dies for longer cartridges.
I understand that the arch is significantly larger in the newer version of the press.

As an aside... The Forster people tell me that the old versions of the press can be updated by the factory, for something like $150.
I think I'll be shipping-off my old Co-Ax later this summer.

You can also do it yourself, buy installing a new yoke casting, if mechanically inclined.

I have an older, short-yoke co-ax. Works fine with micrometer-head .308, but would not work with a longer round and micrometer dies. Would work with longer rounds and standard dies.

Great press. Having tried many others, this is the keeper.

I've had mine for 25+ years now, and have seriously contemplated adding a second one to my bench. The best press ever designed....hands down!! Eagleye.

Thanks for all the feedback folks!

Fellow CGN'er Therion just made an order today for a couple of co-ax presses and some extra goodies. They should be here in a couple of weeks and then we'll be loading in style:)
