Thoughts on jr carbine?

I have one in .40SW. Taken it to the range once and liked it. Little bit of kick. Put a scope on it and want to take it out to the range. From what I've read accuracy is relatively good. Last week with a fake aimpoint at 50 yds I was not bad. Nice that it uses std glock mags. Demo vid makes field strip look fairly easy, haven't done that yet as I need a tool. Plan onputting some kind of recoil pad on it (just for my soft, delicate shoulders ;) )

Any specific questions you have?
 
have one in 9mm 5000+ rds flawless, does need higher optics have a bushnell fakecog that works well, scoped it with see through rings was still to low to be comfortable but able to get 1.5" groups at 100 yards. buy extra mags before u shoot or u will regret it at the range, buy lots o ammo its a fun rifle to shoot, recoil pad not required in the 9mm would absolutley recomend one.

I tried my friend's JR a week ago. 9mm

Very nice gun. I really like it.

In comparison, I have a Ruger SR-22 and I find it to be just as much fun, but cheaper to shoot.

For plinking within 100 yards, the 22 does essentially the same thing. If you need longer range, the JR is the winner.

Could you hunt anything with a JR? Just curious... I'm not a hunter (yet), so I honestly am not sure. I know a 22 would be limited to rabbit sized game, and certainly not deer unless you were going to starve without it. I'd imagine heavy duty 9mm loads would be suitable for deer within 100 yards or something like that?
 
Looking at getting one. Just curious on experiences with the different calibers. Curious about any problems any owners may have expended.

Just don't get it in .45. They don't work without special loads for most users. Still have my JR in .45 and I'm waiting on a parts kit from the manufacturrer that is supposed to fix it....
 
I own one in .40, I love it but it needs a bit of finishing. First, it's really picky for ammo so I've developed my own load so it would not feed-jam. Then it needs to be lubed up when pulled out of the box as it usually comes pretty dry. The magazine well needs a bit of lining so the mag would not wiggle.I find the ejection opening a little too small, probably ok for 9mm, just barely so so for a .40 but I don't get how the .45 round can perform reliably. I love the accuracy of this toy. Put a 4x or so magnification scope and 100m/y is a breeze.
Also, I've printed the # 72 bulletin from Canadian Firearms program regarding magazine capacities, just in case you get pulled over or whatever. Section 4 clearly describes the 10 round Glock pistol magazine used in this rifle is legal. It may be a grey area for not fully familliar LEO and from personal experience, people like us, we could teach your average street cop a lot about firearms.

My buddy has one in 45. His ejector broke three rounds in. Manufacturer sent him a couple replacements and said the one that broke was heat treated improperly. Seems to run fine with norinco ammo. Has a decent amount of 'jam' to it, I assume due to being blowback.
