Thoughts on Kimber Custom Crimson Carry II

Looking to expand my collection to include a 1911. I'm looking at acquiring a Kimber Custom Crimson Carry II. What are the pros/cons that I need to know about?
 
It's designed for carry wich we cannot do in Canada. Why go with an aluminum frame if you can't carry ? The crimson grips are cool though........

Looking at acquiring this strictly as piece to have in the collection. I know I'm not going to shoot it that often, so I don't mind the fact that it's aluminum. Price wise it falls into the reasonable column and you're right the grips are cool.

Any cons that I should know about this particular model or kimber in general?
 
I had my custom target II barrel develop some corrosion on the outside after less than a year of ownership and proper care. Turns out this is a common problem with kimbers (including the carry models) and many arrive from the factory like that. The Kimber rep responded with "I'm sure it will polish off". Good pistol otherwise.
 
I like my Pro Carry II very much. Unless you plan on shooting a hundred thousand rounds,I don't think the aluminium frame will be much of a hindrance.
