Hey gang,

I've searched, but there doesn't seem to be a lot on LMTs.

Specifically, I'm looking at purchasing the new MARS-L lower from Questar, as it's really the only FULLY ambi lower available in the country. Another sponsor has the Aero, but their bolt catch looks clunky as not as well thought out.

Anyone have any personal thoughts and/or experiences?

Thanks!

I've had one for about 8 years. Never had a single issue, and it still drops the empties in a nice neat pile

Thanks or the swift replies!

To be honest, kind of confirming what I thought. Can't imagine there are too many BAD stories out there, but the complete lower is a significant investment.

Why not just get a complete LMT? Could be a bit costly but the fit between the upper and lower on my Defender 2000 is superb….

Played with the MARS-L at shot. I believe it is the only lower that actually allows you to both engage and release the bolt catch on the right, IIRC HK and SR15 only allows the bolt catch to release on the right.

I have a complete upper ready to go. Adcor BEAR that has been gathering dust as I've awaited her majesty to post me to somewhere with more accessible and affordable ranges.

There is also the ADM UIC, AXTS (though they no longer sell just lowers) and the above mentioned Aero. The Aero is the only one I know of in Canada at the moment. The AXTS only comes as complete rifles. I don't mind the ADM, but the import processes timeline and cost essentially makes it a wash financially.

I believe that LWRCi also fits your needs.

I believe you're correct, but I'm not evern sure where to find them on this side of the border. I know One Shot used to carry them, but a quick google search doesn't reveal much anymore.

Also, as far as I understand, choosing between LWRCi and LMT is kind of like Benz vs Bimmer - I don't imagine I'll be disappointed either way and I at least know the full cost of the LMT to my door.

Just curious, what would be the cost of the LMT here in Canada? Wasn't able to find that lower anywhere on Questars site. Thanks.

I emailed with Scott and the complete lower will retail for $1199 plus $9.99 shipping. They're quoting 4-8 weeks.

Based on my proposed parts list (which was fairly modest, i.e. no crazy triggers) and the cost of importing one of the other above-mentioned lowers, it's close enough to a wash that I'm all but certain to just get the complete lower, through on the upper and be good to go.

That would be a good combination! I have HERA HLS ambi lowers with my ADCOR uppers. The best ambi lower was KAC but this new LMT makes it a tougher choice. Still a tough one for you as the KAC comes with a decent two stage trigger.

LMT is solid. I have two LMT mrp and one LMT mws. Very happy with them. You can see the close ties with KAC. My LMT mws And SR25 look like they are related.

With that ADCOR upper you have a carbine that frankly doesn't get the recognition it deserves. LMT also tends to be well known by those who know their stuff while not receiving the fan fare of KAC, DD, CC etc.

I think you will be exceptionally happy with that combo. One side point. Yes Raptor works with ADCOR upper and yes you can get rail covers that work with side charger. Google search it and you should be able to find the covers and quick mod required.
