Thoughts on Marlin Model 60

Speaking of older ones. This 1984 Model 60 popped up on the EE two years ago. It was kind of a unicorn for me as I was looking for the 22 in barrel, 18 round capacity and last shot hold open.

I previously had a Mayfield Kentucky version that Wholesale Sports had on sale for $180.00 with a cheap scope. While it shot OK, between the synthetic stock and the very heavy trigger I like the older version more.

Anyone wanting a metal trigger guard kit, Kinney ships to Canada. Needed a silver version for my stainless 60 and this one is real solid and well made. https://www.kinneysshootingsupply.com/category-s/197.htm
Be careful tightening the rear screw. The guy who owned my 60 before me overtightened the screw, bending and cracking the plastic. Very common problem with these rifles, which is why a metal parts upgrade is a good choice.
