These are just a few. I have manage to aquire one of every caliber that the savage 99 was produced in and it wasn't easy.

Huh? Besides the 38-55 how could it have gotten any harder? You bought 3/4's of your collection off the same guy and your whining about it?;):D

Wish I had it that hard!:dancingbanana:

24 rifles out of 64 isn't quite 3/4's unless there is some metric conversion that I don't understand. And I did find him, so that has to count for something :dancingbanana:

Go figure 2 weeks ago I didn't have any 38-55's now I have 2!

Has this one proved a little difficult for you to aquire MD? 99C DOM 1981 in 7mm-08 one of the 3 tougher one's to find in a post mil.

Model 95 in 35 Win, after many years of looking for one of these found one from a fellow nutz, this one is going hunting shortly.

Awesome '95. Really nice example of a great rifle.

Mine's not a vintage, just a Browning re-pro in 30-06, so no pics on this thread. It's my most prized lever action though. Hoping to tag a bear with it this fall......:)

Win 38-55, what a great post! Probably one of the best posts I have read on here thus far. I also have a soft spot in my heart for the old winchester levers, hopefully one day I will have at least one in each model hanging on my wall.

Thanks

Brian

99trix, that's a great shot of the different Savage cartridges. I never knew that the Savage was chambered in 38-55 (one of my favorites) until you posted on this thread. Some of those Savage chamberings, however, were unfamiliar to me. A picture really helps to appreciate the different chamberings.

Here are my 2 38-55's

The one on the right is the one pictured in the bottom picture. The right one is an 1899C (half round half octagon) DOM 1904.

The one on the left is an 1899A (round barrel) DOM 1911.

Both 26" barrels.
