Assumed your 358 BLR isn't a takedown model. I need a Scout rifle that's stowable so I chose the takedown model, and with a barrel-mounted scope it stays zeroed upon reassembly. Burris makes a variable 2-7x scout scope but it's about twice the weight of either the Burris 2.75x or Leupold 2.5x scout scopes.
No issues with the magnification of my Leupold 2.5x. Entirely adequate for heavy game out to intermediate ranges.
If for some reason I wanted a receiver-mounted scope on my 358 BLR I would choose the Leupold FX-II Ultralight 2.5x20mm scope to keep it light, compact and handy.
