I do not have that particular rifle but it is the same operating configuration as the Cooey Model 64s. The Cooeys were made in the 60s and the 5 I have operate just great as long as you keep the bolt and chamber clean and lubricated. They make fine gopher guns and I use them as such. Of course much can be said for the scope provided. I upgraded to all 3x9x by 40 mm.

thanks for the reply Winnipegtoymaker. i put the 64G model on layaway to hold it till i get my tax rebate they didnt have the FXP package and like my wife said, probably a sucky scope on it anyway. it has iron sights so its not like im in unfamiliar territory or anything, ive never used a scope anyway.

I will never buy one again. It was reliable to a point. That point was about 40 rounds when it would need to be cleaned. If it got too hot, after say putting 20 rounds down the pipe in rapid succession it would jam. Cleaning it was a pain in the boots, as removing the bolt requires taking apart every last screw. The barrel is held in place by a u-shaped piece of metal that keeps tension on the barrel. This could be a good design except that the threading is very very easy to strip out which means that the receiver is pretty much useless after that happens.

Of course this has been my experience with the one I had purchased last year. I traded it off to a fellow I know who re-threaded the receiver with JB Weld and said he never much bothered to clean his rifles anyways so didn't care.
