Hey guys, just wondering what your thoughts are on the Sub 2000? I am looking to get something non restricted in 9mm to plink around with. Been hearing a lot of mixed reviews on these guns so I'm unsure whether to go with one of these or fork out some extra cash to get something else.
Thanks

Great fun, accurate (red lion sights), dependable (Never had a single failure with mine)

It is somewhat cheaply made. It is a cheap gun after all, however it works well for what it is. Plinking around is perfect, its when you get into running a rig everyday in harsh conditions where that kind of build quality matters.

Overall very happy, just wish I didn't go through my 9mm so fast.

Thanks, I think I might get one of these. I am not planning on using it for any harsh conditions...just as a toy, but I do want accuracy which it sounds like it has.

Love mine, but really wish there we could get the Red Lion sights and quad rails sent up here in Canada. The stock sights are not very good, and if you mount a optic or red dot, you can't fully fold the stock.

Utter Garbage for the price when compared to say a JR carbine for a couple hundred more. Hell I see them going for almost the same price these days on the EE.

This gun is a $300 - $400 gun in the US, and it is built like one. Why people pay $600-$700 here is beyond me!!!

Sights are garbage, and it has the feel of a $20 Super Soaker.

Personally I don't think I would even pay $300 for one.........

This is probably the best thing to keep in mind. I am not as negative about them as mlehtovaara but they are a cheap gun and are worth half of what they sell for.

Fun gun that folds in half.
Sure I'd rather pay less and have a 16 inch barrel but at this point I'm happy to have the 18.5" option.

HAHAHA "has the feel of a $20 super soaker" thats awesome. I think I changed my mind and will go with maybe the JR

Would you guys take Thureon Defense 9mm over JR?

Initially yes, as there was issues with the JR and proper function, but since the new version, HELL NO!

The Thureon is ugly as hell, and the skinny handguard is just weird.

I am on the fence right now between the JR and a Mini 14, and not even considering the Thureon.

Again just my 2 cents, but this is CGN so I'd be charging a lot more if I was to sell it on the EE. ;)

After shooting 3 Sub2K's, two with absolute unresolvable sight problems, would JUMP at another JR Carbine, for the same price, in a second.
So much more gun, for the same cost right now. If only the JR's were a shade lighter, and maybe a nicer charging handle.

Where did you see them for the same price? I've seen the sub 2000 for $600 and JR for $900? $600 for the JR would be an amazing deal.

I agree the Mini 14 is nice but I really want a 9mm.

Sorry! I meant a NEW JR for a used Sub 2k price on the EE.
It's a frosty day in hades people can find the new Sub2000's lately. They sell out almost as soon as posted.

Oh I see, yeah seems they sell out quick, pretty sure I'm gonna go with a JR.
