thoughts on the .35 whelen

Was looking for a Whelan in Rem 7600 and came home with a like-new model 700. The forend had way too much up-pressue. A tube of bearing blue and a scraper fixed that. Now it groups like a dream. Only problem since I bought it has been that I haven't found a moose to stand in front of it. I still love my 760 in 30-06 though. Would like to convert the 700 to removable magazine.

It's a great caliber. If you handload you can always download you ammo for whitetail if need be. The Remington core-lokt 200grs are apparently the factory ammunition that put to this task.
