Hi.

Tempted on buying this shotgun...But what are some thoughts on it? I bought the single barrel version of it quite awhile back and it left much to be desired.
Basically the stock came lose and I sold it as a 'lemon'.

Hold out until Corwin-Arms gets in another batch of his Warrior backpackers.

I have 3 of them now - a Gen 1 -12 gauge with an 18" barrel, exposed hammer. A Gen 2 - 12 gauge, 14" barrel, striker fired. And a Gen 2 .410, 14" barrel (also striker fired).

The 12 gauge ones have interchangeable chokes (come with 3 chokes) and you can get a rifled choke for shooting slugs.

Order of magnitude higher quality, for about the same price. I. Will. Not. Readily. Part. With. Mine.

I agree, I haven't shot them personally but ive seen a couple that my fiends own, just from holding it and inspecting it I can tell its far surpasses the quality of the DA backpacker.
But that's just a educated assumption. take it for what it's worth

So are you looking to buy it again?

So are you looking to buy it again? There is only a single barrel 'version' of the DA Backapacker; are you talking about buying the DA Outlaw (the doubler barrel SBS)?

Are you looking to buy it used? CanAm nolonger sells the 12GA SBS DA Backpacker (JW-83 Backpacker), as it's out of production, although you can get the 16GA DA Backpacker (JW-87 Backpacker?) with the 30" barrel (not SBS).

Quality wise (if you are asking about the JW-83 Backpacker), the factory wood stock/foregrip is relatively low quality. Loose foregrip/forend issues can be relatively easily fixed by tightening the (3) Flat-head M5 slotted screws. To remedy a loose buttstock, you need a Philips-head screwdriver and a Long Flat-head screwdriver (approx. 10" long), but it's no rocket science.

This video might help on the parts side (it is not a review, as there are plenty of those out there already):

Sorry. To clarify i meant on purchasing the double barrel version of it.

Right.
Personally, I would recommend something along the lines: http://www.corwin-arms.com/product/...12-ga-1450-inch-barrel-shotgun-screw-chokes-0 - not necessarily from Corwin as there are other vendors with other versions of short pumps. It's is lighter and holds more shells; the double barrel SBS is a heavy pig (relatively speaking) if you want to use them as a "backpacker".

/*Edit: Just realized that Corwin Arms will have some really nice ones coming in, check it out: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1264484-New-Pump-Action-Coming-Soon.

the hammers dont really inspire much confidence.
It's nicer than the single shot, but again I'dd consider it more of a toy.
So if you just want it for plinking, its fun.
but it's Not exactly mad max worthy, i wouldn't trust it and take it out into the bush with me.

My double barrel "Outlaw" I bought is a lot of fun to shoot. Especially when taking new people shooting as you always get the shifty eyes and the "is this thing even legal?"
I bought it with the original intent to stuff it in a backpack for hiking/backpacking but it is quite a bit heavier than I expected. It has basically the same weight as my 28" Rem. Wingmaster I use for duck/geese. I'll keep it for now for fun, but I'm on the lookout for a light-as-possible backpacking shotgun
