Thoughts on the Enhanced ACR?

I have the enhanced version and tested it with both the quad rail and basic handguards. The basic handguard IMO is much better. It weighs less and can have rails added as you see fit with the MOE segments. I'm about 700 rounds in with my rifle and I've yet to have a malfunction. The only problem I've had with it was a bolt that holds the steel guide rails inside the receiver fall out during a long shooting session, fortunately I was able to find it, degrease it and reinstall it. Accuracy is about 2 MOA but I'm sure can be tightened up with better ammunition. I find the recoil impulse to be a little less "jerky" than an AR15, I find it returns to battery slightly smoother. Everyone knocks the barrel since it's 1:9 non chrome lined but the nitriding of the barrel is very well done and it is also melonite coated on the exterior giving it a Teflon like feel. I shot up to 69 gr .233 spec ammo with no difference in accuracy, so I find the 1:9 twist perfectly adequate for my POU. These are just my opinions, but I have found it to be a decently accurate and very reliable rifle so far.

Whats the over all weight ? Did they go away from the quick release barrel ? Who has bin stocking these rifles ? The Rem ACR is 1.8 pounds lighter than the Bushmaster.

8lbs-ish. No, the civilian version still has the quick release barrel - although the latest gens have a slightly lighter barrel than the first batch. Saskatoon GunWorks off the top of my head, but most likely a few other dealers. Yes, the Remington ACR is lighter - but it's also military/LE only (so SOL).

Ya im aware of remington keeping the goods just for law enforcement and military, was just hoping the " revised version " Bushamster was gonna have some of the remington features...
 
I wasn't even aware Bushmaster had their own revised version. The rifle weighs in at around 9.5 lbs with my current setup. Yes it's heavy but it's not like we have to lug them around all day, and a good 2 point sling can help distribute the weight better. I find the quick release barrel system to be superb when it comes to detailed cleaning, you can break the entire rifle down in a couple of seconds.
