After having completely blown the gun budget for the next three years on several firearms this year, (Essex .45, Nork .45, Sharps 45-120, H&R Buffalo Classic, CVA .44 C&B, RAG .44 C&B) I'm looking at the GSG 1911/.22. YOur thoughts and comments are invited.
Thanks all,
Mike
BTW, How's $329+HST for a Norinco Sport in .45ACP?

I like mine, and it has good reviews. There were minor problems with the first ones out, like I've got, but so far so good, for me.
CanadaAmmo has/had the Norinco Sport. plus a thousand rds. ammo for $599. But $329 for just the gun, is as good as I've seen.
These are a very good gun, IMO. Much improved over the earlier models. Very good fit and finish, with a good trigger pull.

GSG 1911 is a good pick for someone who's not really into bullseye and just looking for a fun plinker. I always enjoy shooting mine.

Great gun, love mine. Not a bullseye shooter but no prob hitting a 3 inch target at 12-15 feet with patience and practice. It is what it is. If you want an accurate .22 here are lots of better options for a similar price. But if yu want a 1911 platform it's the best out there in my opinion.

Best advice I can give is don't buy a chiappa (or cheap-apa)

Love mine and it loves CCI stingers

The only reason I didn't jump on CanadaAmmo's deal is I have a few thousand .45 brass as well as bullets and Win.231 powder and a progressive loader. That is a great deal.

I've got 5 or 6000 through mine..the guide rod broke about the 2000 mark and I replaced it with one from Armco for about $30. Thing has been flawless ever since. Mine ate everything I fed it from the get go. After 300 or 400 rounds it will start to have the odd failure to eject. For the money, why not. The colt gold cup looks good but the extra $200 does buy a lot of ammo.

I love mine...had a few teething problems that turned out to caused by be me re-assembling the guide rod spring in reverse which caused eject problems and finally the slide to jam shut...now it consumes any ammo I toss at it. Keep the slide rails wet with oil until the slide breaks in
I can shoot tight groups from 15 to 25 feet. Nice gun, fun and cheap to shoot

while not the GSG, it is the Sig one.... made by GSG.
from what i can tell when i had them both was they are identical.
and i love mine.
i replaced the stock wood grips with a Hogue wrap around rubber and i love it even more!

while i did pay about 100-150 more then all the GSG owners im so happy with the gun i dont care.

and i wouldnt hesitate to buy another or recommend it to people.
solid, made of metal and ive not even had one failure to feed with it yet.

I have had a GSG for a while. It has a trigger job done to it. I was a total fan. I just got a Ruger MarkIII 22/45 bull bbl. and have to say it is a lot better gun for about the same money. The GSG is 1911 style so there is that and it looks like a 1911 but the Mark III is more accurate and better built.

Love my gsg...... Done around 8000 rounds so far, just replaced the guide rod (big thanks to blueline) at no cost to me, broke in with cci mini mags, polished the feed ramp and that's it..... Eats fed bulk no problem...enjoy

Get one. I have the sig version in od, took it to the range last week for the first time and loved every minute of it. It didn't like the stingers, too much wax was slowing down the slide during cycling, and I was getting 10% ftf. I ran 300 or so rounds of blue federal bulk pack (1260 fps) thru it with one dud round and one stovepipe. At 10 yards the middle height front sight post was good for the federal, holding 6 o'clock low. The gsg's now come in all sorts of cool looking finishes as well.

The beavertail on the Sig, is it different than the one on the GSG? From every picture I've seen, it looks like it is a bit larger and has a bigger upward curve on it than the GSG.
