Local gun store has them on sale for 899$, I want to get in skeet shooting and possibly goose hunting as well. What are thoughts and experiences on the V3 field sport? Thanks

Several threads on the shotgun world site . My only experince was handling one off the rack at a local gun shop .it was the black synthetic 28" barrel model .I found it to be quite muzzel heavy .according to Randy Wakemans review the 26"wood version is better balanced .

If I was in the market for a new all purpose 12 gauge it would be a top contender. I put 100 rounds though a friends and it seemed reliable and just a touch muzzle heavy, not a bad thing for smoothing out your swing in my opinion.

I picked up a V3 walnut model with 28" barrel last summer. I put it through the paces on sporting clays and am quite happy with it. No failures of any kind and it cycles anything I have put though it including 7/8 oz reloads. Planning to use it in the turkey woods this spring, while I still prefer my older Wingmasters and 1100's for looks, the walnut version is not too shabby. I wanted a gun with a wood stock and matte finish for my main hunting gun, but also something that doesn't look too bad on the sporting clays course. The V3 fits that perfectly and I would recommend it.

I'd like to get a 26" wood version eventually. Had a versamax and really liked it. I just don't need 3.5" capability. The reviews on the v3 are great.

I am told they sue same gas system as the versa max. My versa max eats anything you feed it. Only thing I didn't like was it does not have a stock that can be shimmed. So the gun better fit you. Having never even seen one that's all I have read Cheers

I have one but I have not used it much, mabye 250 rds. The first box of shells through it was 7/8 oz challenger target loads on a balmy -30C day and I had no issues at all. To date it has treated me well.

As another user said, it is my all purpose "beater" shotgun because I don't need to use 3.5" shells and I felt a touch bad dragging my Cynergy to the slough to smash ducks and honkers. This gas action just makes sense to me and there is no spring assembly that extends into the stock unlike the Versamax. Another bonus is the full choke rated for steel
