Hello All,

I was looking to purchase a TIKKA T3x CTR in .308 Win.

Any general feedback or reviews?

Any suggestions welcomed!

Great rifles and you can use MDT polymer AICS magazines in place of the CTR mags if you choose, just need a slight amount of filing on the magazine and they fit right in and function.

Lots of aftermarket available too if you want to modify it later on, great rifles.

tikka ctr is as close as you'll get to the universal do everything swiss army rifle. all I did to mine was install a yodave trigger spring for a lighter trigger pull. I've never heard of one that doesn't deliver under MOA, and they really perform even better with decent handloads. buy with confidence.

There are quite a few of those rifles in our club up here, and everyone that owns one is very happy with them.
Very accurate rifles on the whole.
I think most of the ones I have seen are either in 6.5 Creedmoor or 308 Winchester.

I picked up one last year. Been out with it a few times. I haven’t yet found a load I can say it really likes as accuracy has yet to be sub MOA, or as good as my 700V. Nevertheless, I like the rifle, and while I like the oversized bolt knob, I find it a bit obtrusive in use. Once the weather gets better, I want to get out with it more and try to find a hand load it likes.

Had one in a KRG Bravo, called it the poor man's TRG. I replaced it with a custom, (not a fair comparison barrel wise, factory vs custom) but action wise I don't feel like I gained much.

I have a CTR in 308 and for 3 years it stayed in it's factory stock. I found 168gr Sierra Match Kings shot lights out in the thing. It is the least picky rifle I've ever shot! Loads are all within a few 10ths of a grain, no problem. All about the same seating depth, works fine! Last year I bought an MDT stock on black friday. Haven't had it out more than a few times since then, but I think it just compliments the handling nicely. Factory triggers are adjustable and super nice IMO. A great rifle that I would buy again without hesitation

I currently own 4 CTR and have owned one in 308 years ago

I have one in 6.5CM and I have used it for hunting and bench shooting. As noted above, pretty much the swiss army knife of rifles. Its a bit heavy for hunting but it is such a great shooter I take it anyway. I believe I have taken close to 10 deer or antelope with it.

I have a left hand CTR in 6.5 PRC. I just took the rail off and mounted a NF SHV 3-10x42 in talley light weights. Wanted to lighten it up for a hunting gun.

Only downside to the T3x CTR is the exorbitant cost of the 10 round magazines (with tax, north of $200 per magazine). I did find a place in Alberta that 3D prints CTR mags (which also apply to the TACT A1) and for under $40, it's not bad. The Tikka mags are all metal (they better be for that price).

Action on the bolt smooth as butter.
