Thoughts on this new rifle with warped stock?

Since you bought that factory new Beech Range stock, see how that fits first to rule out other issues. If it's a perfect fit, then you have a solid case to bring to the vendor.
 
Was the gun on special? I have purchased and been burned 3 times from the same sponsored vendor on this site. Each time it was a "deal" that I could not pass up, good timing or a price I could not argue with. Each time I was told to see the manufacturer and left for dead. Occasionally I see some crazy price or sale, but as soon as I see it's them, I skip it and move onto the next. My point, I think some vendors may have "specials" when they know there's a problem with that batch or perhaps got a lot of returns?
 
This may sound silly , but , remove the bolt and look down the bore. Hopefully it looks round , and not egg shaped in there.
If it doesn't look round , it would not be the first rifle to get it's barrel bent in the mailing ordeal.
This is almost certainly NOT your problem , but it wouldn't take long to have a look.
 
The OP bought an OEM Range stock. If the alignment doesn't improve, it could be a bent barrel or misaligned barrel, though unlikely.
 
It may just be me, but the barrel channel looks quite large for the barrel, even if it were centred, there would be a heck of a gap still?

If all else fails, relieving some material in the action area and a good bedding should straighten things out, assuming the barrel is straight.

Hopefully the vendor goes good for it!
 
I re-aligned a barrel before by using a small cutting from a metal ruler as a shim, worked a treat.

The OP picked up a new Range rifle stock from Wolverine supplies. I look forward to hearing how it fits. Then we'll know for certain if the factory fitted stock is warped or poorly inletted.

As noted above, the stock alignment could be remedied by a professional bedding job.

I was wondering the same thing so I checked it out. It’s actually a very nice (9-10/10 to me) fit surprisingly. The bend is very gradual along most of the length of the for-end so shims won’t help I’d think. I’d have to remove some stock material i guess but would be pretty.

Yes, it was on special and overpriced to begin with.
 
The recoil lug is there and it’s a great fit too.
I’m definitely going it try it in the other stock before I send anything back. If it fits great or better I may just box up the bent stock and ship it back despite the seller not wanting that at all. I don’t care what he wants or thinks. Worst case he screw me a little harder.
The barrel and stock just barely touch when the stock is warm. In the cold it moves so slightly but stops touching right at the very end. I could remove material but wouldn’t be very pretty.
The groove looks big in my pics but when pressure is applied to line it up it looks really good.
CZ makes a nice rifle there’s no doubt. I’m pretty reluctant to part with the steel. Other than the bend, I would have be ok with the stock.
 
If the Beech stock fits, keep the steel for sure! Send the warped stock to the vendor. If no refund/credit is given for an obvious problem, you have grounds for a formal complaint with CZUB. There are several Czech and Slovak speaking members here that would help out.
 
Wood stocks often warp. This is especially true if the fore arm is a bit cross grained. If the stock is not contacting the barrel, it won't affect accuracy at all. Can it be straightened? Yes it can, but with some difficulty. Should it be replaced under warranty? If the manufacturer warrants their product to be free of defects in workmanship or materials, and if the deflect exceeds their criteria, it should. If they can claim it is within spec, you are not likely to get a positive response.
 
When the barrel is aligned in the channel, the gap is just right. If I have time later today, I will pull one of my 557's out for a photo.
 
Wolverine is the cz warranty depot in Canada that is who the issue should be take to it is a manufacturer defect .
Weather the rifle goes back to the dealer or you send it directly to wolverine that is where it ends

Exactly. Wolverine for the win again. Stock is headed their way. Very happy I didn’t listen to the seller and came here first.
The new beech stock from Wolverine arrived - It’s a perfect fit.
Just waiting on rings to arrive and I’ll get to get out and give it a try.
