Thoughts on Tikka T3x LITE Stainless with factory composite black stock

The A bolt is usually a good shooter. Did you buy it new? One thing that happens is that Browning and Winchester used a plastic like bedding compound that tends to come apart with recoil and age. It is easy enough to remove and use a proper bedding compound. If you got it used the grouping may be why it was sold. I would get it checked out before abandoning it.

I had a T3 in 338, I just had a peep site on it, recoil was stout but I didn't find it too bad with a Limbsaver on it. I would prefer the A bolt myself.

I found with a light rifle like the Tikka to use a extra slip on butt pad and wear a shooting pad on the shoulder to control flinching worked. When hunting who's going to notice recoil. I have done it for years and even had both shoulders bruised black and blue hunting in a t-shirt and not problems.

A good friend of mine has T3x in .338 Win Mag, he loves it. He got Corlane's to put a muzzlebrake on it but it still will give you a good boot as he found out. He took it goat hunting and took a shot at one at a pretty steep angle and his footing wasnt the greatest when he pulled the trigger and it came back and got him the worst case of Weatherby Eyebrow I have ever seen ! It took 12 stitches to close it up and that gun has been named "Stroker" ever since.

My Tikka in 6.5X55 shot well right out of the box. Seriously 4 or 5 inches is what my Enfield shoots. There's something seriously wrong with your Browning.

It needs the administrations of a good gunsmith.
