Ok,so I made the mistake of putting blue thread locker on my CCS when I installed it....now I need to removed it and.....now I can't get it off.... So any of you tech guru's have any sage advice on how I can removed the stock without destroying my stock or lower ?

Put the buffer tube in a padded vice and turn the receiver off? Or a strap wrench on the buffer tube with the receiver in a padded vice? You have a vice right....lol

Tried the vice,a strap wrench aswell as heat, hasent budged.will give the wd 40 a try.any other chemical that may have an affect on the thread lock?

There is a release agent you can get, or juat a bit of heat drom a low setting heat gun.Blue should loosen easily

If you tried heat with a blow dryer, it won't work. You need a heat gun. I got a mastercraft one from Can Tire for around $20.

There is also a product called Kroil....a penetrating oil....it might help to break down the locktite

Had blue threadlocker on my KSG's extension. Took it off this weekend: the trick is to heat it to somewhere a little over 200C using a blowtorch. Came off easy. If you have sensitive materials in contact with the area being heated.... good luck my friend. I would suggest perhaps padding those areas with something wet or covering it with some metal bolted on to dissipate heat.

You shouldn't need heat for blue threadlocker as it is the intermediate one, normally you'd need it for the red one. A lot of elbow grease should do the trick but if yours really can't move then try a proper heatgun or even a little butane torch.

You need a heat gun. WD40 or Kroil won't do anything. Wasn't there a warning label on the thread lock bottle "keep out of reach of children"? LOL

You sure it is "blue" Loctite?
blue is medium strength I use to use it all the time with my paintball gun, you should be able to remove it with just hand tools with no heat required. I suggest you take a closer look at the threads, there might be other issues preventing you from taking it apart.

Get one of those mini torches " crack lighter " ,cigar lighter , there great for high heat in a pin point application , good luck

Heat is the only hope.
Not only should you not have applied Locktite on there, aluminum threads should always be greased for assembly.

I know....This was my first AR build I did last year....stupid newbie mistake...but that's it....I've tried heat,WD40....and wrenching on it in the vice.

CLEANUP
Clean adhesive residue immediately with a damp cloth. Cured product can be removed with a combination of soaking in methylene chloride and mechanical abrasion such as a wire brush.

For disassembly, shear with standard hand tools and remove with methylene chloride. In rare instances where hand tools do not work because of excessive engagement length, apply localized heat to nut or bolt to approximately 482°F (250°C). Disassemble while hot. Straight from the vendor site.
