a range mate is trying to sell me a Henning optics plate for my Shadow 1 and a Fastfire 3.
He didn't have any screws to go with it. I identified and found 6-32 set screws for securing to the guns dovetail.
But I am having trouble identifying the screw holes that the sight attaches to. I have tried all the screws in my parts bins and it seems to be an odd ball size. The screws that came with my Burris RDS are 6-48. My friend says these holes are 6-40 or M4 x .7. A machinist at work stuck a nylon round into the hole to take an impression and counted 42 threads per inch.
Has anyone had to replace screws in these?
