Threaded barrel on my 1899 savage - Factory?

Hi all,

Have this Savage 1899 that has been in the family since at least the 60's.

Did some research and found that it has a year of manufacture 1910, and that it is a model 1899a. It is numbers matching, and never had been refinished.

Funny thing though, it has a threaded barrel, haven't seen anything online and can't find anything about threaded barrels on these,

Looks pretty dang old, inline with the blueing at the end of the muzzle brake

Wondering if it's factory,

No one in the family has ever got it done, or know of anyone else who had it got it done.

At that time, you could have had that done at the factory. Or it could have been done at a shop . Looks factory.
I had a Winchester 69A with a threaded barrel, and I know it was ordered that way from Winchester, With the little attachment that it was threaded for.
 
New on me. I will hazard to say that it's certainly not factory, nor is it an old modification. If it were, it would be incredibly rare, Savage collectors would scramble over themselves to acquire it. Do you know what the thread pitch is? Does it match any modern suppressors, or is it an oddball thread pitch that the "Maxim Silencer" would have utilized?
 
I will figure out how to measure thread pitch with the tools I have,

The only searches was about people asking the same question, but no definitive answers


I never heard of him, but it will be cool to ask him.
