Could some of you knowledgeable fellas tell me why you would want a threaded muzzle on a hunting rifle ? I understand that you could then put on a brake which reduces recoil . I guess you could then also put a silencer on the end of the barrel, but why would you need a silencer on the end of a hunting rifle ?
Thanks

For some cartridges, a brake would be beneficial for those that are recoil sensitive... also they can help even light calibers stay on target while viewing through a scope, allowing you to see the hit. In most hunting scenarios, a brake is unnecessary. As noted above, suppressors are prohibited in Canada... another stupid law.

Look at some of the Scandinavian or other countries that allow suppressor use, in fact I think there are countries that encourage it or mandate it possibly for hunting. As someone with hearing loss I would happily use one to hunt if it was legal, instead of having to wear electronic ear pro while hunting. A factory threaded barrel with a thread protector would be great, leave it as is or add any number of flash hiders or muzzle brakes as you see fit.

In more civilized nations people think North Americans are crazy for not using suppressors while hunting.

Suppressor or moderator please..... silencer is such a negative (and inaccurate) word, that will never get the public on our side.
