I've been doing some looking around and can't seem to find anything. Has any company come out with a shorter barrel (20 inch or less) that came with a threaded barrel for chokes? Everything I seem to find are 28+ inches.

870 Express Tactical with the ported breaching choke (it's a cylinder bore but the barrel takes Rem chokes) Some of the turkish guns might but I'm not read up on them. Another option is to have your barrel threaded. The wall thickness of the barrel is an important measurement to determine which choke style you can use but something heavy walled like Dlask's 870 barrels and the Mossberg 590A1 are heavy enough for stuff like Rem choke. For thinner barrels there are Carlsons Tru Choke thin wall but their tubes are for lead only if that matters to you. They can be installed in barrels with less wall thickness.

My LGS in Moncton NB has several 'flavors', most Turkish with 14.5" and up. You'll have to look at each one to find the multi-choke models but there are many starting under $300CDN. DoctorDeals website says EFT Only accepted, shipping depends on where . . .

BTW - I just looked further and there's a semi for $350, 18.5" barrel - maybe time for another ???

If I remember correctly the regular tru chokes are fine to shoot steel through, and they are thinner than a standard rem or win choke. I have a 12.5” grizzly barrel that was threaded for them, these were not the thin wall version as my gunsmith said he had both options available depending on how my barrel measurements were at the muzzle.

I’ll have to look at the paper that came with the chokes, I don’t shoot steel but I’m pretty sure they’re good to go with it.

What you are looking for is generally referred to as a "Turkey Barrel".

Mossberg 500 has 20" threaded barrels available. SKU #90140

That is correct, the standard tru chokes are gtg for steel but the thinwall version is listed as lead only.

Some Winchester SXP Defender models come with an 18" bbl and take Browning Invector Plus choke tubes.

I bought one that was dipped in Kryptec camo. Sprayed it black and added a rail. I use Trulok chokes for Turkey, Upland and a Carlson's rifled choke tube with a scope for slugs. Makes for a compact, accurate, versatile (and reasonably priced) rig.

Highly recommend.

It's an excellent shotgun. The Invector plus tubes and the back bored barrel put it ahead of the majority...
