I would you be alowed to thread the outside of your barrel in canada. Or is it illegal to this.I want to put a fake can on my 22 that i can screw on rather then finding a way of keeeping it straight without threads

I don't do metric threads.
But 14mm is .551". Too small for a 9/16 thread (.5625"). 1/2" would work. 1/2-28 is a very common thread for attachments.

so would i have to taper the barrel done or with it be fine just to thread onto it. Btw the gun is a mossberg 22 tactical might let yall know more then me lol

i know a few gunsmiths that are very good in newfoundland and one of my teachers is a machinets and we have a whole wing of machinest next to the welding wing of the school which is what i am doing. douth ill find one thou :p

Saders...
This is a stock Ruger 10/22 barrel I had threaded 1/2 - 28 / .400" deep
This is most likely what you want done to yours.

Getting my SR-22 threaded soon. My friend is a machinist and has done lots of that sort of thing. 1/2 -28 if what to have.

i decided that i will just use setting screws as there ant no kick in a 22.Will probley have it tomorow if the machinest department will do it up for me makeing the supperorss cover 2 inches of the barrel and 4 in over. 1.50" aluminum round stock with with a 2" deep hole then reduced down from there so the barrel stays at 2" deep. Wish me luck

You might want to re measure. I made a slip on brake for my air rifle with a 15mm barrel. Hole was drilled with a 15mm drill, so it was probably a couple thou oversize. Tried it on my dads tac 22 and it was too small, slight interference fit. Would have had to hammer it on.

If your still interested in doing this yourself, this might help ...

Not sure if they ship to Canuckistan but you can shot them an email and ask. Everything you would need can be had for less then $100 shipped so any sort of restrictions would not apply.
