Threads on a MAS-36

Hello!
Anybody here has seen the barrel threads on a MAS-36? Are they different from the usual armory threads (i.e. metric or what?).
Anybody with experience in rebarrelling? I have a very nice Remington Heavy Varmint barrel in 25-06 at hand and I'm wondering if it could be rechambered to .257 Roberts Improved and re-threaded to be installed on a MAS-36 action.
The 257 Roberts is about the same length as a 7,5 French so I guess it would feed right.

MAS Rifle threads

The Mas Rifle has the following specifications for the barrel Shank.
The length of the threads from breech face to the ridge is .845", with a thread pattern of 16 V, T.P.I. and the distance or diameter of the barrel is
.980" across. There is one close copy to the thread pattern and it is the Mosin-Nagant rifle barrels. The rest are too large like the Winchester model 70 that has a 1" across the threads. The Remington barrel is close in dimensions and thread pattern 16 V, but I don't know if there is enough meat on the barrel to re-thread it for the MAS. If you look in the book "Bolt Action Rifles", by Frank de Haas (I have the expanded third edition, pages 501 to 510) in the back is a section that shows the comparisons of thread patterns of barrels. It gives the drawing of the barrel and the thread patterns, and dimensions in inches and some in both inches and metric.
I am not a gunsmith, but look them up and go from there. I hope I haven't confused you, and is of some help.
