I went to Calgary last weekend to get certified as a Boone and Crocket/P&Y horn/antler measurer. Told crazy_davey and let him know it might be a good chance for us to meet, since we have been back and forth on CGN for a couple years now.

Got to meet crazy_davey (Dave) and "Noel" also. They set up a dinner at the Keg and we had a great time. Two top class fellas.

My suggestion to the guys on CGN is: If you are planning to travel somewhere, post where you are headed and try to hook up with a fellow CGN'er from the area, for a coffee or lunch. I'm glad I did. Too many times I have travelled and not even called relatives, let alone anyone else. It's a mistake. Take the time to give someone a shout. Although the course was the main objective of my trip, meeting Dave and Noel was the highlight for sure.

Huntinstuff, you are so right. I travel a lot betwen hunting, fishing,guiding and gunshows etc. and have had the opportunity to meet and shake hands with some of the guys. I always appreciate the chance to put a face to a name I've seen over the years on the board. Often good friendships develop.

I'll be in Moose Jaw this Saturday for the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation Expo. I'll be doing some predator calling demos and in keeping with their "hands on" theme this year, I'll be teaching some young kids to call at 1:00 on Sat.

I'll be at the gunshow in Swift Current on Sunday as well. If any "Gunners" are planning to go, stop by and say hello.:D

so far everyone that i have met from here has been topnotch people.i'd break bread or spilll a drink or 30 with them anytime.now to meet more:dancingbanana:

I'm doing the Expo in Moose Jaw on Sat. so won't be in Swift Current till Sunday. I'll be in my ghillie likely howling on a call.:D
 
Heading to Bobcageon for the long weekend! Gonna check out my new sweet 16 gauge . Guess I could chop some wood too!:D
 
Yup, it sure was cool to meet up with both Randy and Dave. I must admit, I was listening to Randy's guiding wisdom alot more than speaking. Sorry if I seemed so quiet! lol The knowledge this guy has is incredible! I hope to head to the field some day with him.
As for Dave, well he is just bad news. He has led me on a spending spree lately that has led me to an all time high!:D
Now it's time to spend some of his!:evil:

I am very grateful for getting a chance to meet these guys and some of the other guys from this forum too. :rockOn

Thanks for supper again Randy. Kudos to Dave for setting it up and proving to me that the crazy drivers of Cow Town WILL get out of the way of my 2500HD:wave:

hey guys, you got it... We've been doing it out in Ontario for some time...
Most of the guys that have been around for a while here in Ontario I've either met, or know someone who knows em personally...
I've lost track of the number of CGN r's I've met over the last 5-6 years, (and a bunch we've hunted with too)
CGN can be a great network, if used properly...

We should put together a dinner somewhere for the Southern Ont guys... (and pockets around the country) What do you guys think?

Gunshows are a great place to do it too... God knows, Doug has introduced me to a s**tload of the CGNr's I know at gunshows...
Go figure :)...

I have pretty well lost track of how many Gun Nutz I have met in person, but it is in the hundreds. At my advanced age and decrepitude, memory sometimes fails me to recall names and sometimes even the fact that I have met somebody...........:rolleyes:

But there are a pile of us here in Ontario, and I always wear something at the gun shows that says I am a member of Canadian Gun Nutz, and there are always people introducing themselves. :dancingbanana:

I am hoping to meet (in person, at last) triton, dumbdawg, mommabear and fogducker at the Belleville show in a couple weeks (Sunday 15 April). :p

This is a great forum, and I have made some really good FRIENDS here. If anybody had told me ten years ago that I would be meeting people over the Internet I would have told them they were smoking cheap dope!:onCrack:

Doug..all of named above ,are getting togeather this weekend ..to bull chit,cut wood,eat moose and deer steaks, do some shooting,.......
then once the gunz put away...
a big bonn fire and a beer swilling fest:D

we will also try and work out schedule to all make it out to the gun show;) ..in belleville..
