Here's a shot for the Tikka/ Sako fans for heritage sake:

Forty years of Finnish workmanship in the making:

That's a Sako M28-76 in 7.62x54R, a Tikka 595 in 223, and a Tikka T3 Sporter in 6.5x55, which I totally lucked out on finding, as it's got a 24" threaded barrel and set trigger- it was the only one the shop got in and was unlisted- I'd bet there are only a handful that made it into the country in the configuration, as the 24" threaded barrel isn't listed on any of the rifle spec sheets I've seen from Tikka.

The M28-76 slings 208 grain Amax's into much smaller groups than it should. The 223 is a proven performer. And I haven't put a single round thru the T3 yet, and with my upcoming schedule it'll likely be mid-summer till I do! The set trigger is awesome, and very neat to see on a Tikka.

:( Just sold my M-65 Sporter. Didn't want to see it go but it needed a better home.

Treat it well, or may a thousand drunk Finn's come and toss their cookies on your lawn.

Jerry, the M28-76 was a '70's era officer's match rifle, and in a very few cases, an operational sniper rifle used by the Border Patrol/ FDF. The one pictured is in such a configuration with original mount and scope. It's on its way to another CGN'er as I type, as it would have become a duplicate in my collection in the coming months. The bore is .308 on it, and the trigger is very good.

My current pondering is whether I should rebarrel the T3 right off the bat to a 28" pipe. The 24" tube sort of neuters the capability of the x55 so far as I've come to understand from Norwegian reloading info for the STR
