Three gun rifles

My wife has expressed an interest in three gun matches. Questions:

- which rifles are commonly used?
- what magazine capacity restrictions apply?

We have tracked down a SS Mini 14 and have read good reviews on the S&W MP 15 and Olympic Arms 15.

I remember seeing the SW MP15 on sale at crazy low price from one of our vendors recently... or maybe IRUNGUNS. I will take a SW for a hundred bucks more than a Norinco! DPMS Oracle is also inexpensive... or a sale on a Bushmaster. There are a lot of options now in the standard length carbine market.

As for mags.. I see people running six 5/30 mags or at least four LAR 10 round mags stacked together (better option, with more rounds)

For optics I go with a low power scope on top center rail, with a reflex red dot sight on a 45 degree offset rail (tilt gun slightly to use).. I have a flat top upper, low profile front gas block with a floating rail, over a 12" barrel (14-16 inch is closer to ideal).. standard M4 butt stock, with a moified A2 grip (finger groove and checkering removed, sanded smooth)

What bout using 10 rd AR PISTOL mags in AR rifles? I understand that is legal.

I'd buy a norc on sale right now for $529. Use it for a while to practice while you get a chance to get a first hand look at what other people are using.

Cool thing is I caught that sale on the Oly in an ad in our local paper. Something neat about seeing black rifles advertised for all to see.
