Three kinda old do it all calibers

And I thank you kindly. I never looked at it that way but it is pretty close for my way of thinking.
 
If it's 3 calibers to do it all, .22 k-hornet, 6mm rem and .280 rem
If it's 3 calibers that do it all, 308, 303 and 30-06
 
Bartel had it with the range of cals he mentioned.
If I had to pick my 3 though.....geez, this is hard!
Ok, here's the ideal:

  • .22lr
  • 6.5x55
  • 45-70

I can't just pick three though.
Instead I'll give groups.
The ones in bold I already have; the rest I intend to get sooner or later:

  • 25-20, 303/25
  • 7x57, 303 Brit, 8x57
  • 9.3x62, 9.3x74R, 45-90

My the .375 sure nuff shows up don't it. She barks and something is gonna die;) Not to mention she is the grand old mother. Then there's the .30/06 and the .222. Have to rule out the 12g as I think the idea was for rifle cartridges. 12g will do all that is needed from pot meet to Bear Defence if required as we all know
 
Only three to pick from and I don't consider a need to spend hours at the range in this:

.264 Win. Mag. (Better off with a fresh barrel every season anyways!)

.30 M1 Carbine (If shooting a deer once is fun, why not shoot 10 times?)

.444 Marlin (Need this for the saddle. And it looks nicer than the 45/70)

I can't think of anything else you'd need...
Want might be a different story! :D

That may be so. But that is the most un-imaginative cartridge selection I have ever seen.;)
