Say holeinthedonut - where you are located (I'm thinking possibly Luxembourg) what are the requirements for shooting your fully functional SMGs?

Sirskons - your PPSH-41 and AK, are they full auto, semi versions or dewats?

Klunk are your MGs functional full autos - where can civvies still fire MGs in Canada?

You got the location right! But alas no legal way to shoot the full auto stuff! It's on a collectors permit! It only hurts with the new stuff, I wouldn't shoot the old girls anyhow!

Mister Hole in the Donut,

How difficult is it to get a collectors license for full autos where you are?
I understand that the regulations are very different from country to country.
Is there much of a market for full autos?

Nice guns that you posted,......very sweet looking Thompson.

Regarding our law I just quote an old post of mine:

Quick heads up about our local gun laws, which by the way are quite liberal for European standards but you never know how long it's gonna last.

You have several possibilities to legal gun ownership:

The first one is a to have a Hunting gun licence, you have to follow classes and training for two years about hunting stuff and then pass written, practical and shooting exams. Then you can get a hunting license which makes it possible to apply for a hunting gun license, you can buy as many guns as you want but no automatic or semiautomatic rifles and no handguns.

Second possibility is you join a shooting club, then you get a first gun permit for small bore, during two years time you have to do active shooting with .22 at the shooting range of your gun club. Afterwards you can buy all caliber and all sorts of guns with the exception of full auto stuff. (I have a SIG 551 on my licence as well as an UZI and a Colt AR 15 I rebuild to M4 standard ....etc. But they are all semi auto only)

If you want to own full auto guns you can get a permit to buy them but you will not be allowed to shoot them, you're only allowed to own them and keep them at home. But again no restrictions regarding caliber, number of guns you own etc. So on my collectioners permit I have a G3, an UZI, a Sterling, a Beretta M12 an MP 5 from MKE,....etc.... but I'm not allowed to shoot them on the range. In order to get a collectors permit you need to have had a sporters permit for a few years.

When you apply for the first time it goes without saying that you need a clean slate with the justice, the more you need the approval of your local mayor and the police will do an enquiry about you.

You are never allowed to carry your guns during daily life, only on the way and back from hunting or shooting at the range.

Shooting is only allowed on official shooting ranges or during hunting season outside of towns and villages.

If you are a civilian there is theoretically a possibility to get a concealed carry license for self defense but I never heard of one being issued with the exception of some civilian employees of NAMSA.

As I'm LEO I can carry my service gun, a SW 686 on the job.

Regards

As you say the laws change a lot inbetween EU countries afaik we are the only countrywhere you still can get full autos, with the exception of belgium! But there are no new permits issued in belgium, afaik only the people who had a collectors permit for years are allowed to buy full autos anymore.

So there is no real market, except for tiny little Luxembourg, as a consequence the prices are low.....590€ for a Tommy gun, 1600€ for a Browning M1919A4, 600€ for an UZI:dancingbanana:

I'm currently waiting for the papers to add another M1 and M1A1, russian lend lease guns in a very good condition, to my collection.
