Three shots. Did they get him?

Maybe he shot a couple deers ina drive?

I have seen that happen. Years ago, I remember hearing someone empty 5 rounds in about 15 seconds and I thought, there is someone who can't be bothered to aim. I found out the next day that the guy took five deer with those five shots. Turns out his group only had two tags left though so there was trouble all the same!

I once shot a doe at about 3 yards (first shot) 5 yards (2nd shot) 9 yards (3rd shot) the first two were from the hip and both in the boiler room third one was a spine. I was following her tracks in a snow storm when I jumped her from her bed.

Two years ago I shot a buck on the third shot as well, I misjudged the range and shot over his back third one he was running flat out and I led him 4' and took him in the neck.

Golly, a whack of wieners on this thread that don't appear to have ever killed an animal. Perfect is great when it happens, but never a guarantee. I'm from the school of shoot until he's down.

I was lucky enough to shoot a 4x4 mule deer a few weeks ago. I shot three times in less than fifteen seconds, killing him where he stood. I can't say for certain that the result would've been so beneficial for the two of us if I went limp after the first round. Sure, he had a good stagger going after shot one, but it ain't over till it's over.

That is the way I was tough to to.keep shooting till it is down for keeps. No way could I watch a wounded animal walk away if I have more shells in my gun.i would rather not have to track them in the woods when it is dark.so put them down and keep them down .last year we did a deer drive I had four deer come out in shot the first one with 20g slug down she went. I turned to the next deer and shot twice at it.down she went. When I turned back to the first deer she was back up and heading for the woods..keep shooting till thy stay down
