Is there any way to check the throat and a barrel without taking it to a smith? I was looking for a guage but all I could find was ones for a M1. I have a swift and would like to check the throat on it.
If you handload, and keep records of maximum seating depth, you can get an idea of how much erosion has occurred. A borescope can allow erosion to be seen, but it can't measure it. Don't know how many 'smiths have a borescope.
