throw gas piston in with stainless tumbling pins?

I was wondering the other day if anyone has ever thrown their gas piston in the mix while they are stainless tumbling brass? I know the pins seem to get brass very clean without any damage. Maybe it would work well on the inside of the gas piston?

Just a thought I had.

Anyone try it?

No no no no!

Gas cylinders and gas cylinders have critical tolerance dimensions. They should never be cleaned with abrasives.

Stainless brush for the inside if it's that bad.

Thanks! The depth of knowledge/information over there is just shocking. Gus Fisher's forum alone, never mind Art Luppino's, Ted Brown... Guys that have spent a lifetime with M14s. It's such a rad resource!
