I know how the throw of a percussion hammer is measured (hammer screw centerline to nipple) but how is the throw of a flint #### measured ?

I just bought an old flintlock needing a #### assembly.

I've always measured center of tumbler axis to floor of bottom jaw. But the angle of the bottom jaw relative to the touch hole is also to be considered, as well as the style. Where the edge of the flint will be presented is an additional factor. It needs to be able to give a good spark producing scraping pass down the face. Then there is the stop shoulder to consider.
I would measure the large #### at 1 3/4" and the small one at 1 1/8".
Small lock is 4.3" long, large one is 7.35"
