There was some interest in a pic of my thumb and the story behind it in another thread: http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=121926 so I thought that I'd share this story with your guys. (warning all cross-posting TFR guys, repeat thread).
p.s. this was posted in an American board, hence all the reference to ghey canadian laws and 4" guns.
Thread Begins:
Right now I'm currently in Korea, about 2km from Camp Casey and 20km from the DMZ. As such I thought that I would kill time before the Nuclear Holocaust by regailing you with the tale of my summer adventure in pain.
Late August, 7:30 PM - Location: Garage/Woodshop
I'm tooling around in the garage making some random things with scraps of wood. Mostly shelves, a new axe handle, and a paddle for my canoe. I'm minding my own business when this friggen table saw attacks me. (notice the handle of the hammer in the bottom right).

Aww f*ck! This sucker actually hit the bone! And worst of all I'm leaving a super obvious blood trail so the bastard can track me down and finish the job.

Well I raced to the hospital and waited for about 4 hours, because this fat old lady hurt her foot three days before, then decided to go shopping and walk on it, and now it hurts again. Best of all she's a really old native lady so the doctor needs a translator, so this took about 3x longer than it should have.
Well I got it cleaned out, and the nurse gave me two needles on each side of the base of the thumb. To tell you the trush the saw blade removing flesh and hitting bone flesh better than the nurse hitting the nerves both times.
Here's the front, doesn't look so bad.

JESUS CHRIST!!!

Well I got some stitches (8 of them), got a perscription for some antibiotics and went home. . . back home to that maniac, just waiting to finish the job. He's got a taste for blood now, and I can just hear him licking his razor sharp carbide teeth. Waiting for the momment when I'm at my most vunerable.
Well, I can't go back there defenseless. . .

Ooooooooooooooh! How exotic!

Wait, this is one of those manly/cool 5" Tactical ones. . . not those ###-ass 4" #####es that people who don't live in
can buy.

Time for some payback creep!

Any last words you son of a bitc. . . Wait! What's that you just made? It looks like a . . .

It is!

Well I guess that we're friends again after all!
Picked this up from Wolverine Supplies in Manitoba and the instant it was in my hands I knew I had made the right choice. Before I left for Korea I managed to put exactly 200 rounds through it, and have managed to make significant improvements to my stance and groupings. Even if I could get the 4" version here in ###land I'd still get the 5" since it is so freaking nice. I love the weight of it in my hands and the extra inch between the front and rear sights is really nice.
I'm thinking of getting some new Sig sights in it since the stock ones are just peachy for self defense but not ideal for target. I can get better groupings with a friends old police issue .38 snub since the sights are paper thin and don't completely blot out the target like the XD's.
Other than that I'd have to say that this is easily the finest handgun I've ever shot (GLOCK fotehy, .38 snub, Webbley .455, S&W .44, Ruger .22, Colt 1911, and a dozen other no-name .22's).
The only thing that sucks is that I can only use a 10 round magazine because I live in
. God I hate how appropriate that smiley is for canadians posting in TFR.

I had to cut it short due to the rest of the content not being legal in f*cking gungrabistan.
