Thumbs up for the Norinco HP9-1

So, I finally took the plunge and added a Norinco to the collection... something at one time I said I'd never do.

I have to say, having owned at least six Remington 870 Express's the quality on the HP9-1 is superb and makes the 870 Express's look like it should have the "Made in China" label.

The aluminum trigger guard, the receiver, the internals... everything is top notch. I was skeptical and expecting the worst... for those who said don't buy one, buy two. They are absolutely correct. Thumbs up for the Norinco HP9-1!!!

the only thing the Express has over the HP9-1 is the flexi-tab system. buy an Express and an HP9-1. Swap the bolt and flex-tab from the express into the norc, and then sell the express. Get the best of both worlds!!

For that matter, the Express synth stock smells better and is nicer than the Norc stock, so maybe swap that too.

I've noticed my new HP-9 requires the forend to be completely forward, ideally locked, to load shells in the magazine. Should you be able to load shells in the magazine with the foreend in any position, or must it be forward?

Last I checked it needs to be forward in order for the shell carrier to be in the right position...ie not blocking access to the magazine.

And I agree, great shotguns.

Sorry for being lazy and not searching but are after-market parts interchangable between the Rem and the Norc? Specifically, stull like stocks, foregrips, etc.

Yes they are interchaneable between the two.
I have to get me another one for my bedroom closet.Then again i might wait and see what those shotguns that Dlask will be bringing in.
