Hi all. I have a skinner rail for a Ruger American Rimfire on its way to me. Installing it will need 2 holes drilled and tapped in the barrel. Wondering if anyone has any recommendations for someone who can help me with this in the Thunder Bay area. Thanks!

Slim pickings for gunsmithing here in T-Bag.
You could try Richard at L. A. R. Arms on McLeod St.
Disclaimer - I've never used him but I spoke with him at a local gun show. He apparently does some gunsmithing and I'm thinking he could mount a rail.

BTW, don't forget to check out the gun show coming up at Slovak Legion on March 11&12th if you're in Thunder Bay. Good luck!

Unfortunately we're in the lurch since GMK retired, but let us know if you do find someone who works out. Nice to see some Thunder Bay peeps here - Carpenter, send me a pm. I may need some help with finishing work this summer.

Hey Guys, thanks for all your reccomendations and some of you who have reached out privately for advice. I did not end up finding anyone in the area so I ended up installing the rail myself. It all went really well with basic hand tools and a wooden jig I made. The harder part was actually lapping the rail to make it the right mounting height for the barrel. Anyways I much appreciate all you guys who gave your input. Thank you!

In summer 2020, I was put in contact with James Francis, via a mutual acquaintance. He made up a replacement part for a butt on a Schultz and Larsen rifle - if not told, one would think it was a S&L made part - I was very pleased with product, timing, cost, etc. I hope things turn out well for him - he did good work!
