thunderbolt ambi safety removal............

I tried taking off the ambi safety of my new thunderbolt. tried everything does not disengage! went halfway in bet safe and fire,wiggle it it is so tight!
any idea/tips would you guys like to share?

Remove the right grip panel, use a non-marring pry tool and slide under the right side safety and gently remove it.
Then the left side will come out the usually way.

Mine was fine with stock grips, not so much after I put VZ grips on. I had to sand a little more from the ambi safety cutout on the grips, and loosen the grip screw a 1/4 turn. Now it works properly.
