My shop buddies and I are working on an old Colt double-action .41 revolver (from the 1870s). We are making some headway but will need some advice at some point. (Yes, I realize this gun has a reputation for being finicky). Does anyone on the forum have experience with this pistol? (We seem to have all the parts and a reasonably clear picture of where things go/how they are supposed to work, but getting everything to come together is being a problem.)

Yeah, that about spells out a 1877 Colt.

It ALL has to be in good nick to work reasonably reliably, and if the user gets heavy handed, parts break. Expensive, fragile parts.

Lots more coverage if you search through the Antiques sub-forum.

Cheers
