let me first start off with saying the fit and finish of this firearm is second to none. no machining marks to be seen anywhere, the fit between the upper and lower is amazing. i would need to bust out the dial indicator to measure the play in between the upper and lower is fits so well. and no it is not tight or difficult to split

there are 6 pieces to the bolt and a spacer in the buffer tube the rest of the buffer is regular ar spec stuff and same goes for the trigger group

factory trigger was just like any factory ar15 trigger i swapped it for a geisselle ssa-e i had in the closet.

i mounted a vortex sparc i had laying around

i shot with 8 types of ammo 3 were reloads and 5 were assorted factory stuff 10 round groups all landed on paper distance was 50m and shot off a bag. an additional 50 shots were fired for sight in and rapid fire offhand testing

had one malfunction where i was shooting and the bolt knob locked back into its recess. was a non issue as i just pulled it out and kept shooting

overall very happy i got this instead of the jr carbine this gun is a tank just need to see if i will be able to shoot some .45 super out of it :cool:

Thanks for the review. I have been thinking about buying one of these models and after seeing your groups I think I will. Congrats on the purchase.

Another plus is there is an internal.magazine stop so.it does not rely on.the mag catch to.locate the mag

I reload my. 45 Hornady XTP'S with bullseye. I wonder of I can duplicate a group like that. That is fantastic.
How is that handgaurd? Ok to hold and shoot with? It felt small when I held it at Epps
Did it get hot at all.?
I was thinking of drilling and tapping a oouple small holez on the bottom of the hangaurd and mount a pic. Rail and an AFG. Something to help hold it.

Is not having a threaded muzzle an issue???
 
i like the handguard size and can live with having an extra $300 in my pocket from not buying the armseastgun with the rail kit on it i dont think drilling and tapping would be an issue at all just do it on a milling machine to get it perfectly centered

the xtp load was a box of hornady custom it surprised me too i now have to duplicate it. the gun can handle +p loads so i am going to try to make some gradually hotter than the 5.2 of titegroup see if it can be tightened a bit more

barrel barely got warm, it is at least double the thickness of your standard pistol barrel

That is what I was thinking. The $300 would buy me a UBR stock. :) The only thing that optional rail does is make it 'look' more like an AR. Add rail and rail covers. You have shown this thing can shoot darts as is.

Tough choice here. This or a KRISS. I think I might get this......and hold off on the KRISS until spring. The Thureon also had a big price increase....might as well get it now.

Looks like I might have to go for another 50 minute drive.........

Just checked stock...getting low. They are selling that is for sure.
 
The ones at Epps have a fixed M4 stock and as mentioned, no rail kit. Of course if .45ACP is your choice then you'll have to live with it or buy from another dealer that may bring these in.

I want a pistol caliber carbine in 9mm but the ones that look half decent are in the $2k range. I think the TD & JR are both butt ass ugly. The Beretta Storm might be a more attractive offering if I can live with the stigma of owning another restricted class firearm. I was hoping for non-restricted for obvious reasons. I might have to suck it up and try a TD. I didn't think much of the JR when I held one at a local gun shop.
 
Butt is fixed in place with a roll pin and is easily punched out. go put one in your hands (i didn't like the looks of the td carbine either) the riser does not.look out of place like it does in.the pics

Finding most new firearms is a virtual impossibility in Nova Scotia. There might be one or two places in the province that would stock new firearms. Closest to me is over an hour away. It's basically a situation where you buy something online hoping that you'll like it. Otherwise, it's a huge mistake to make.
