Thureon Defence Any Good?

Carefull taking the buffer tube out as it holds the pin that keeps the buffer tube from coming out. The tube has to be a certain amount to hold the spring loaded pin. Its easy to reinstall after you replace the tube.

im very interested in the thureon defence carbine, was looking at a sub2k but of course seem a bit cheap, the tdc look all metal (except stock)

well i think its my next purchase :D

I own the 3 in 9mm, my personal assesement of them based on my own experience make me rank them this way by best to less best... JP

1...Beretta Cx-4 Storm NR...
2... Thueron defence...
3... JR carbine....

I have owned both the JR and the Thureon in 9 and 45 and I now own a Sub2K. The Thureon Defence 9mm is by far the better gun of the 2. Its not quite as sleek looking but its so simple and easy to work on and its extremely well built. My JR was a decent gun but having to undo hex screws to split the upper and lower for cleaning was just annoying and the gun itself didnt exude the same level of quality and the Thureon. I only sold mine (reluctantly) because I needed some $$ for another project and had the sub2k for 9mm... but I do miss it. It was a fantastic gun.

I was after a TD but bought a JR in 9mm on a whim. Happy with the JR, accurate and well built, but gritty creepy trigger which hopefully will smooth out in time.

I think the TD looks kinda skinny, but with the ease of takedown would give it the vote (sight unseen) If it is worth the extra for that feature only you can say.

Both non-restricted with all the advantages that brings.

As for the magazine problems, is it difficult to load the tenth round in it. I am told that recent Glock mags barely take ten, and the tenth round must have a little free movement down the mag tube or the closed bolt will stop it from seating. Had this problem with new 40S&W M&P mags. I thought it was an extra long spring, but in fact it is the follower legs that are a touch too long. (Easily fixed).
