Got no pics of mine but it has the round fore end like JP's but in 9mm intead of 10mm. Also OP, how do you like that strikefire? I've been thinking about trying one out.

LOVE the strikefire. I own 3 of them. JUST bought a Lucid HD7 to compare but of all the red dots ive tried so far the strikefire is my favourite for the money. Im sure there similar, more expensive units out there that will perform even better, but for $200 (or $160 if you buy it lightly used like I did for all 3 of mine) you really cant beat it. With the high mount it co-witnesses PERFECTLY with the Magpul sights... I mean the dot is literally resting on the top of the front sight post.

FWIW I DO have a Thureon in 45 as well. It was the EXACT replica to my 9mm but with all black furniture instead of the OD. The 9mm is simply a sweet sweet gun but the 45 seemed a bit clunky to me so its up for sale. I did own a JR in 45 and it felt like MORE clunky... but I owned a Vector before the Thureon and I guess I just got spoiled by that Super V bolt system. Ive since gone back to a real rifle round for my main gun but I just cant let the TD 9mm go. I just like it so much and its so cheap to run.

My ONLY complaint with these guns is the lack of a bolt hold open on the last shot. This is the one and only reason I dont use this gun for competition. I can shoot 2 inch groups at 50 yards with nothing but the Strikefire and the included screw in magnifier. Its fast, holds 10 rounds and isnt overly heavy. But having to lock the bolt back manually every time I want to re-load is a pain and wastes time. I dont understand why Thureon didnt incorporate this into the design. The Glock the mags are designed for does it...

It's called "short"??? 16x?

I think he was referring to the actual "mag" or magazine which appears to be the short version the thureon guns all come with (my 9mm came with a glock 19 mag instead of a glock 17 mag). The Magnification on the scope is likely between 4X and 6X... at least thats what style of scope it appears to be. Id LOVE one of those on my XCR... hard to find good used ones or new ones that arent crazy expensive though. Nice looking setup caramel

I just picked up a used one in 45 ACP. Ran 150 rounds through it yesterday afternoon for the first time. 100 x 230gr lead RN, 25x 230gr lead FP and 25x 200gr lead SWC. I installed a cheap set of knock-off Troy sights just to get playing.

I've had a 9mm Sub2000 before and have held and tested the JR carbine in both 9mm and 45ACP. the fit and finish and quality of the Thureon is far superior than the JR, it just feels like a quality bit of kit in your hands. I can't wait to dress her up a bit with some new furniture. I think I'll go the tan/black route as well.

Ignore my dog. Lol

Definitely the $h!%! To many problems with the JR.

Yah I agree, I had tons of problems with mine, but they worked it out on the phone with me and now it's actually working pretty good. But yes I believe if you buy a product new, then it should work as claimed, no bullsheet about it.
