Thureon Defense firing pin spring

Hi, I was hoping someone with a Thureon Defense carbine could let me know if it has a firing pin spring. I just watched a takedown video where it shows it having one but mine (which I picked up on the EE a while ago) does not. Mine is an earlier model so not sure if this is an update or if mine's just missing and I should track one down. I've taken it out on several occasions and it functions 100%.
 
There is a spring in mine (built 2014), however it doesnt just pop out like in the tear down video. If you want it out have to get something in there and pull it out.
 
All TD rifles have a firing pin spring. If you need one you can contact Thureon Defense and they will gladly send you one, best customer service out there.

Just curious on this. I love my TD9mm, but since I had the firing pin go, the customer service hasn't been that great.Well actually it was not the customer service, it was more the amount of time it has taken. Over 2 weeks to return my emails/voice mail, and currently on week 3 on waiting for my replacement pin. That said the email I did get said that they would send me a new pin, or I could send them my gun no questions asked, and free of charge to get it repaired.
 
As far as I know they redesigned the pin and made it larger a few years ago, the original bolts can be sent back for free machining to take the new pins or they will send several old style replacement pins.

so this thing is good to go then?

been looking for an nr pcc for a long long time.

is there a way to tell by eye whether im buying a new redesigned model or the old broken one?
 
I guess you could get the serial number range from TD, but if you are buying a used gun in Canada there is a pretty good chance it has the original bolt.
I'd ask the seller how old it is and if the bolt has been modified.

I have an original bolt verision and it's been fine but I've probably only put about 700 rounds through it. I'll probably contact TD and look at shipping the bolt back to them for the modification just to be "up to date" so to speak.

From what Ive seen the redesign was done somewhere between 2012 and 2014.. I know, not very specific but if you email TD they may be able to tell you exactly when fix made it into production.

If you buy one with production date 2014+ you should be ok.

These things are crazy accurate and a LOT of fun to mess around with. Though I did have a range officer at my local pistol range tell me I need to be at the rifle range until I explained it fired pistol rounds.
