Thureon Defense Shipment Has Landed

If not using optics, what are good sight options? As it appears that no sights are included........................

A $50 green laser on the bottom rail works great up to 50 m in bright sunlight.
Not quite the same thing as your question though

I've got an Aimpoint T1 on my 10mm and love it! Nice and compact, killer battery life and more than enough for the carbines intended range - makes my little 4" spinners dance!

Wanstalls, I just ordered one of these, do they come with the assecsory rails as pictured?

Also where does one find factory Glock mags? Or do the KCI mags work well in these?

Thanks

I have a bunch of factory glock mags obviously they work very well
But I also have some hi cap kci mags for the long mag look they look great and work just as well just make sure they come with the extra mag springs they are stiffer and work better when replaced in the kci mag they come free

Bought a 9mm last week, put a150 rounds through it on the weekend, nice!!!!! No hick ups and very accurate.

Turns out that the bolt does hold open. I emailed Thureon to see if I could get more long picatinny rails and to whine about the bolt not locking open.
I got a response within the hour that yes they will send the rails direct and to lock the bolt open you just push the charging handle in, who'd a thunk

I was just going to chime in and tell you but looks like you have figured it out!

I have not and can't figure it out. Can you guys add a little more detail on how to do this?

I'm wondering if everyone is on the same page here, are we talking about an automatic 'last shot bolt hold open' or manually pushing in the charging handle into a little notch to get the bolt to lock in the open position?

Ok, never mind, I just figured it out. Hold back as far as it will go, push in HARD and it will hold open. If definitely does not hold open on last round.

I don't believe the TD carbine is designed to "hold open on empty mag", like other blowback carbines. Anyone have the .40 version? Is there a caliber to watch for or are they all reliable as hell?

Hickok45 reviews and says "thumbs up" to the Thureon Defense Carbine. Check the bump firing at the end of the video :ar15: This 9mm version taking ALL the Glock 9mm mags he had was pretty cool, if I must say. Looks like an awesome carbine.

When I wanted a 9mm carbine about a year ago I did a lot of research and came to the conclusion that this is the one I wanted. Unfortunately I missed the batch that where brought in by a different retailer. Over the weekend I seen that Wanstalls had these in so I ordered one up, should ship today I'm told. I may look into having the muzzle threaded and getting a barrel shroud / fake supressor that some of the guys were putting on the JR Carbines, should take away some of the long barrel look.

I've had mine for a couple weeks now and a great gun. It's run flawlessly through a mixed bag of cheap ammo and shoots straight. The only thing I don't like about it is it's the girlfriends new favorite and I can't get my hands on it!

Can anyone confirm if the 9mm KCI mags work in this rifle?

I now see this was answered, however could please someone elaborate, the KCI may or may not some with stiffer replacement springs?

I see this one has a rail kit and other TD Carbines are on the market without it (just the short rail). Is it worth it for the long rail kit, for those who bought it? Is it a 2 piece long rail or a 1 piece long rail? Anyone mind posting a pic of theirs and the rail kit?

Thanks.

If they don't, you can order directly from Thureon. I got the top rail and three long rails instead of 2 short and 1 long.

What package did you order and how much was it?

We're chatting by email and I did send you some pics. If you look at the TD webby, I think they quote $90 for top rail, one long rail and two short rails. I specified top rail plus three long rails. I think they charged me $108.

I do not believe you can install a rail kit if you get the round hand guard version of this gun.
