Ticked at Sinclairs

Even though Shipping can be slow, and sometimes costly, their prices are good, customer service is good, and they have more stock than ANYONE in canada!

3 Weeks ago I placed an order with Cabelas Winnipeg (5 hourse from here) and Sinclairs within 30 minutes of each other on an evening. The Sinclair order beat Cabelas by two days! For some dumb reason Cabelas took my $$, then didn't ship my order for 8 days then it took two more days to arrive!
 
I bought an m14 extended bolt stop from brownells and they shipped it in the same size box, and it was the only item.
 
As soon as I saw the title of the thread "Ticked at Sinclairs" I said to myself, "Ah, excessive shipping charges I bet." I got burned by them once but it won't happen again.
 
That is the norm for Brownell's and Sinclair's. Whatever you order the box will be 25X larger then it needs to be. Under $100 for the parts and $25 for shipping,

Yeah, at least they ship here. Unlike Midway USA. I wonder if they realize how much sales they are losing by not shipping to Canada?
 
Brownells doesn't believe in padded envelopes. (Presumably Sinclair as a company owned by Brownells will have similar policies).
Funny, I find pdded envelopes move faster than a box and I haven't had issues with them disappearing w/USPS shipping to Canada from other vendors.
 
Postal rates are becoming out of sight within North America. 2 small screws and a front band for an Enfield = $12, postage, Marstar to interior BC = $15. Total was near $30. Owwww. But I did get the small bubble envelope.

Never, never, never, order ANYTHING from ANYONE in the USA unless it can be shipped USPS.

BTW, ( I once asked Sinclairs about the big boxes and they said smaller packages simply get lost too often )

Paid for next day to Canada none gun related item... 87 bucks other way 2 days 37. I said screw it I want next day by 8Am so I paid more... So I could do other things that day instead of waiting and waiting all day.

I called them at 8 Am and asked the sates its on the way on the truck on route might of got stuck in traffic figured alright sounds good to me. I check online says same thing. Near the end of the day I call nope not on truck even though scan shows it was will be there tomorrow 8am guaranteed. 8am call no package must of been delayed in customs. (no it wasn't I phone customs and it was already cleared bs lie. Check online they change the status to show it was never scanned by a truck. Wait all day that day as well no package call near the end of the day it will be there tomorrow. I went I paid 87 bucks for next day 8am its not here at 8am guarantied (I checked my area to see what time as some are different) I told them screw it just send the package back I don't want it anymore you can explain why your priority shipping never made it. (tax was prepaid) They show up at 6:00 pm because the driver didn't want to goto my area not enough deliveries to make it worth while for a few days so he can make his quota per day. Said it will be 67 bucks for duty and tax. I said it was prepaid tax showed the paper work. Said it must be for duty then show him the paper work for the border for duty it wasn't the right amount. I also told him I asked for the package to be sent back and now it shows up. I could of paid for the cheaper shipping and still got it in the same amount of time. (They tried the you must of not been home) I replied I'm sitting beside the door with cameras showing my whole front yard and street if they even drove past I would of seen it. I even said tell me what time they came by I can send you a tape showing it's incorrect. I just don't like being lied to but allot of shipping companies do that crap. I simply say screw them I will never ship with them ever. When they're the only choice I call the company tell them I will not ship through them I will pay more to go someone else they're very surprised most of the time and I tell them why I won't ship with them. DHL opened a package and stole items out of the package I only got 1/3 of the valve of what it was worth even with the video showing it. I tried to file a police report brought tapes everything to them said it's for insurance to bad so sad. Theft is theft and when you got the guy on camera doing it and the police won't do anything there is something wrong. So ups and DHL I will never ship with.

Thats why it pays to live close to the border and have friends in the States. I will pay a few dollars more for things to keep the money in Canada, however when it starts to exceed double the price thats when I order stuff from the states.. Also Midway has alot of stuff listed as shipped free.
 
I always put in the comment box " Please ship USPS first class for 5.75 " has yet to fail me... And When it doesn't fit The use the 12.55 Box....

There service is top notch
 
My wife just pointed this out to me, your looking at this all wrong..

Now you have a free box for Christmas wrapping or shipping. I can't believe you aren't emailing them and thanking them. Think of the time you'll save.
